Kendall Farm's Barn Venue

Memorable weddings
For an authentic Downeast small wedding or event venue consider Kendall Farm barn. Our barn has breath taking views across fields and deciduous forest and beautiful Boyden Lake. Perhaps the most handsome and well kept barn in all of Washington County was built in 1913 by friends and neighbors and my great grandfather, Sam Kendall and grandfather, Everett and brothers John and Howard. Using Black Spruce from a wetland on the property our family tore down the old barn near the old lane at the edge of the Bugby cemetery and moved it closer to the farm house at the end of the then “new lane” off Golding Road.
A piece of history
The recycled beams are weathered and have notches in them. Back in the day they used anything that was available in the walls of the new barn and then put new boards and beams on the roof. Growing up my father, Bill said they always had 1 horse and 4 cows. In the middle of those stalls they had a small boxed in area for a sick animal or birthing critter. Bill, my father remembers the loose hay filling up both sides of the barn up to the peak. He reshingled the barn in 2000 after removing the original cedar shingles. They were natural, unfinished and not painted on the outside walls that lasted from 1913 through 2000 or 83 years. Today it hosts swings for kids, live music, dance parties and memorable weddings!
