“We believe these two weeks at your cottage have been absolutely wonderful. I thought last year (1 week) was terrific, but this year has been better than any cruise, foreign or otherwise could possibly have been. Peace and quiet is the name of the game.” Bruce and Anita, Bangor, Maine

“Four generations of the Seal/Rugemer family have stayed on Boyden Lake. They visited from Maryland beginning in the 1920’s. My husband first went to Perry in the early 50’s and called Leona Kendall his Maine Mom. He met her when he was six and the cottage by the lake had no plumbing. He traipsed up the hill each morning to pump water from the well outside Leona’s farm house, fed the chickens and watch Mr. Kendall milk the cows. Our boys caught their first fish in the lake, learned to swim in cold water and paddle a canoe. We go now because it is quiet. We enjoy visiting the Kendall family, sharing a few meals and listening to the loons. We go to be refreshed and renewed in a simple cottage with a warm fire every morning and sometimes in the evening.” Virginia, Baltimore, Maryland

“The sun setting across the lake cast a shadow that allowed for pleasant dreams and the sun rising allowed for great cups of coffee down on the dock. An absolutely GREAT place for a relaxing week to forget about it all!” Samantha, Springfield, Vermont

“The flight of eagles during the day, the cry of loons at night, berries in the fields, crimson sunsets and lazy canoe rides were just part of what made for an outstanding vacation experience. It was a great escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life. Nothing is commercialized, both cottages have outstanding privacy. It is like having your own cottage for a week rather than renting one of a bunch of cottages where noisy crowds get on your nerves.” Mary and Lou, South Portland, Maine

“Maine and the Boyden Lake area beckon me back from afar time after time. I am indebted to my hosts, the Kendalls, whom facilitate the restoration of my soul. I am grateful to preceding generations whom lived, worked, saved, played and were laid to rest in the area imprinting their energy for me to connect to. Coming away from this restive experience is best summed up by the word, grateful. Beautiful vistas are punctuated by the cry of the eagles or the call of the loons. This flood upon the senses unlocks one’s reflections bringing us closer to nature and from nature closer to God. When it is my time to die I am certain a part of me will continue on by Boyden Lake for this is where peace is found.” Mike, Maryland

“I was amazed at how beautiful the eastern tip of Maine is. I had spent some time in the south, near Portland, and realized that Maine was a beautiful state. But, when I finally made it to the area around Perry, I was astounded. The area is one of the most picturesque places that I have visited in the U.S., and around the globe for that matter.
I had the opportunity to stay with several friends who I had served with in the Peace Corps in Africa. The cottages were a perfect place for such a reunion. The cottage perched on the hill reminded me of my grandparents’ farmhouse. And the cottage sitting on the edge of the lake was very festive and brightly decorated. And, the lake itself, is stunning.
During my visit, I kayaked on the St. Croix river. The trip was only a few hours, but we had a chance to stop on an island for a short walk, spot several seals, and breathe in the splendor all around us. I would definitely do that trip again just as I would definitely visit the eastern part of Maine again.” Ethan, Portland, Oregon

“I enjoyed my stay at Kendall Farm Cottages so much! Highlights for me included a fresh lobster dinner on the side of the lake during sunset, picking blueberries and raspberries barefoot in the softest grass ever, the sound of the loons at night, and the pleasure of good company and local hospitality.” Lisa, San Diego, California

“I stayed at Kendall Farm Cottages and when I returned to the daily grind, I was more refreshed and relaxed than I had been in a long time. The lake setting is stunning, and the lake water was warm and inviting. The Kendalls are excellent hosts and a great resource for anyone visiting the area. The cottages themselves are like a home away from home, with all the amenities one needs and the personal touches that make them unique. I would return year after year.” Molly, Portland, Oregon

“What I enjoyed most about my visits was the sense of peace. Life is not rushed up there, one is allowed to clear their mind and enter into a place of serenity. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place where they can go and be quiet for a while.” Nathalie, Gloucester, Massachusetts

“In August, 2003, we enjoyed a fabulous reunion with friends at Kendall Farm Cottages. The living family history ambience of the farm made even those of us who had never been there before feel as though we had “come home”. The farm provides sustenance for heart, mind and body. We made delicious salads of veggies and herbs picked fresh from the garden, gathered blueberries from the fields for scrumptious pie, walked the paths and meadows, explored the local sights, floated in the lake, and caught up with one another’s lives in the cottage living room. Kendall Farm Cottages was the perfect spot for making new memories and reminiscing about past ones. Thanks to the Kendall family for sharing their cottages and the beauty of Maine with us.” Deanna and Jay, San Diego, California

“Lazing in a hammock with an ice cold beer, watching the sun glisten on the lake and listening to the serenade of loons. What a way to spend a summer’s afternoon!” John, Washington, D.C.

“Thank you for all that you did to make my vacation in Maine a wonderful one. I recommend two weeks at Boyden Lake – one to enjoy the cottage and the lake – the other one to enjoy all that Perry, Eastport and Calais have to offer.” Lorinda, Baltimore, Maryland

“I ended up in the cottage by luck! My stay has been very enjoyable, quiet and peaceful. I feel at peace with myself. I caught my largest fish ever (16 inches) but I couldn't’t keep him. He had to be 18 inches. My favorite think is the fires at night and the view from the cottage in the light. I look forward to the next time I can come again.” Melissa, Maryland

“Thank you for your hospitality. My first visit to Maine was amazing. Your place reminds me of the edge of the earth. A place where you find yourself again. Thank you.” Rob, New Jersey
