The Red Sleigh ~ Perry, Maine

The Red Sleigh features local arts and edibles including functional art and delicious locally grown foods. This year the shop will host many products made by 40 local artisans, farmers, a baker, and a florist.

The shop is located on Rte. 1 in North Perry next to The Strawberry Patch, convenience store.

The purpose of The Red Sleigh is to offer our community a seasonal gift shop that features Washington County-made products to support local artisans and farmers. The items for sale are unique, eclectic, fun, and energetic gifts.

Produce is organic when possible and value-added food products are chosen for their rich, delicious, and nutritious qualities. All items are priced fairly and offered as environmentally conservative as possible, using recycled materials for packaging, display, and advertising.

An education component to the shop includes the impacts of buying locally versus chain stores and green practices as part of the shop including a compost pile, composting toilet, energy efficient lighting and the use of recycled materials for packaging. The shop promotes community programs and activities on our bulletin board.
